Archaeological Sites

Sete Cidades National Park in Piauí contains some of Brazil's most significant prehistoric rock art. These archaeological sites feature red pigment paintings depicting human figures, animals, and geometric symbols attributed to ancient hunter-gatherer groups. The inscriptions, found on massive sandstone formations within the park's geological 'cities,' offer insights into human occupation dating back thousands of years. Visitors can observe distinct motifs such as hands and various zoomorphic representations along the park's designated archaeological trails.
