If you want to travel by a bullet train or limited express train, you need to purchase a limited express ticket. There are two kinds of limited express tickets - with or without a reservation. If you want to travel first class on these trains, purchase a "Green Car" ticket on top of the limited express ticket. If you want to travel first class on other types of trains, you only need the Green Car ticket.
You can buy a ticket at the ticket offices or travel service centres. For shorter distances, you can use a ticket vending machine.
