Nature & Waterfalls

This collection highlights the diverse ecosystems of Adjara, from the humid subtropical forests of Mtirala National Park to the high-altitude alpine zones of the Lesser Caucasus. It features prominent landmarks like the 50-meter Makhuntseti Waterfall and the volcanic Green Lake at 2,022 meters. Urban escapes include Georgia's oldest public park, 6 May Park, while remote destinations like Tbikeli Lake offer glacial scenery within the Kintrishi Protected Areas.

6 May Park

Established in 1881, this is one of Georgia's oldest public parks. It surrounds the natural Nurigeli Lake and houses a dolphinarium, aquarium, and zoo corner.

Evropis moedani

Central square featuring the Medea statue and an astronomical clock. It serves as a primary public gathering space surrounded by restored 19th-century architecture.

Makhuntseti waterfall

A 50-meter-high cascade located in the Keda Municipality. It is situated near a 12th-century stone arch bridge built during the reign of Queen Tamar.

Mirveti Waterfall (main)

Reached via a path through a moss-covered boxwood forest. The site includes a medieval stone bridge and is located near the confluence of the Chorokhi and Adjaristskali rivers.

Green Lake

High-altitude volcanic lake situated at 2,022 meters near the Goderdzi Pass. It is known for its clear, emerald-tinted water and surrounding coniferous forests.

Tsablnari Waterfall

A 28-meter waterfall located within Mtirala National Park. The access trail leads through a dense chestnut and beech forest characteristic of the Colchic rainforest.

Merisi waterfall

Also known as Gundauri waterfall, this cascade is located in the Merisi Valley. The surrounding area is noted for its mineral springs and traditional wooden architecture.

Located in the village of Kapnistavi, this site features several cascades and a series of historic water mills that are still partially functional.

Tbikeli Lake

Glacial lake located at 2,227 meters within the Kintrishi Protected Areas. It is a habitat for the Caucasian Triton and is typically reached via multi-day hiking trails.

A manicured green space on Batumi Boulevard featuring traditional Japanese landscaping, a red bridge, and decorative stone lanterns.

Tskhemvani Waterfall

Situated in Mtirala National Park, this waterfall is accessible via a hiking trail starting near the Tskhemvani stone arch bridge.

Shavi Lake

Also known as Black Lake, this high-mountain body of water is located near the Goderdzi Pass, surrounded by alpine meadows and peat bogs.

Chirukhi Waterfall

High-altitude waterfall located in the Chirukhi alpine zone, approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. It is primarily accessible during the summer months.

Kalaboinis chanchkeri

Mountain waterfall located in the remote Chirukhi region, characterized by its rugged landscape and proximity to seasonal summer shepherd settlements.
