Roman Heritage

Aquileia was one of the Roman Empire's largest and wealthiest cities, serving as a vital crossroads for trade between the Mediterranean and Central Europe. This UNESCO World Heritage site preserves an extensive archaeological park featuring a 1st-century forum, a massive river port with stone quays, and a unique Roman necropolis.
