Ascoli Piceno Province Essentials

The province of Ascoli Piceno is defined by its distinct travertine architecture, most notably in the provincial capital’s Renaissance squares, Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Arringo. Beyond the city, the landscape rises into the Monti Sibillini National Park, home to the glacial Lago di Pilato and Monte Vettore. The region also preserves significant medieval history, seen in the hilltop fortress of Acquaviva Picena and the 14th-century brickwork of Santa Maria della Rocca in Offida.
