Iconic Viewpoints and Peaks

Auckland’s unique topography is defined by its volcanic field, featuring over 50 dormant cones such as Maungawhau and Maungakiekie that offer 360-degree views of the Hauraki Gulf and Manukau Harbour. This collection spans from the 328-metre Sky Tower in the CBD to the rugged cliffs of Muriwai’s gannet colony and the remote ridgelines of Great Barrier Island. Visitors can explore ancient Māori pā sites, coastal wharves, and forest lookouts across the region, including the Waitākere and Hūnua Ranges.
