Historic Churches of Bamberg

Bamberg’s ecclesiastical skyline is defined by the four-towered Imperial Cathedral, home to the Bamberg Horseman and the only papal tomb north of the Alps. This collection spans centuries of religious architecture, from the purely Gothic Obere Pfarre to St. Stephan, the only Protestant church consecrated by a Pope. The list includes the Baroque Jesuit style of St. Martin, the Romanesque cloisters of the Carmelite Monastery, and St. Gangolf, the city's oldest parish church located in the historic Gardeners' District.
