Beara Peaks and Viewpoints

The Beara Peninsula's landscape is defined by the Caha and Slieve Miskish mountain ranges. This collection features prominent summits like Sugarloaf and Adrigole Mountain, alongside coastal vantage points overlooking Bantry Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Highlights include the Mare’s Tail Waterfall, one of Ireland's highest falls, and Lady Bantry’s Lookout, which provides views of Glengarriff’s ancient oak forests and the surrounding rugged terrain.

Lady Bantry's Lookout

Elevated viewpoint within Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve. Accessible via a steep stone staircase, it offers 360-degree views of Bantry Bay, Glengarriff Harbour, and the Caha Mountains.

Sugarloaf Mountain

A 574-meter peak in the Caha Mountains known for its conical shape. The summit provides views across Bantry Bay toward the Sheep's Head Peninsula.

Dooneen

Coastal vantage point near the western tip of the peninsula, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the entrance to the Dursey Sound.

Mare's Tail Waterfall

One of Ireland's highest waterfalls, located on the slopes of Hungry Hill near Adrigole. The water cascades down a steep rock face in the Caha Mountains.

Gour

Coastal viewpoint along the R572 road, offering vistas of the rugged Atlantic shoreline and the Beara landscape.

Adrigole Mountain

A summit in the Caha Mountains overlooking Adrigole Harbour and the Healy Pass. The area is characterized by glaciated rock landscapes.

Skellig

Tooth Mountain

Eagle Hill

Barraduff Mountain
