Alpine Huts & Shelters
This collection features essential mountain shelters within the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park in the Spanish Pyrenees. Ranging from fully serviced alpine refuges like Renclusa and Estós to basic unstaffed bivouacs, these sites provide critical support for summits of Aneto and Posets. Located at altitudes between 1,750 and 2,425 meters, they offer strategic access to the Ésera, Estós, and Vallibierna valleys, serving as vital hubs for multi-day trekking routes and high-altitude climbing expeditions.
Renclusa Refuge
The Renclusa refuge is located in the Spanish Pyrenees at the foot of the massif de la Maladeta, at 2,140 m high, in the Ésera valley.
Refugio de Estós
Staffed mountain refuge at 1,859 meters in the Estós Valley. It serves as a primary base for climbing the Posets massif and is a key stop on the GR 11 trans-Pyrenean trail.
Refugio Cap de Llauset
Modern, staffed high-mountain refuge situated at 2,425 meters in the Ribagorza region. It provides a strategic connection for hikers crossing the southern side of the Maladeta massif.
Refuge de Vénasque
Located on the French side of the border near the Port de Vénasque, this refuge overlooks the Boums de Vénasque lakes and provides views of the Maladeta massif.
Refugio de Pescadores
Unstaffed shelter in the Vallibierna valley. It is a common starting point for the southern ascent of Aneto via the Coronas lakes.
Refugio de Coronas
Wilderness hut at 1,970 meters in the Vallibierna valley, equipped with a fireplace for basic shelter during high-altitude treks.
Cabaña de Batisielles
Basic unstaffed stone shelter located near the scenic Ibón de Batisielles in the Estós Valley.
Hospital de Benasque - Espagne - Navarre amp Aragon
A historic former hospice turned mountain hotel at 1,750 meters. It serves as a gateway to the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park and the French border crossing.
