Ancient Burial Mounds

Billund's landscape is dotted with prehistoric monuments dating primarily from the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. This collection features legendary sites like Dronning Amlets Høj, linked to the Amleth saga, and Trindhøj, where significant oak coffin burials were discovered in the 19th century. The list includes Neolithic long barrows at Vorbasse and numerous Bronze Age tumuli, such as the Trehøje group, which demonstrate the region's long-standing cultural and funerary importance within the Jutland peninsula.
