Brno’s religious landscape spans centuries, from the twin-towered Gothic Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul on Petrov Hill to the functionalist Agudas Achim Synagogue. The city’s history is reflected in the morbid Capuchin Crypt with its mummified monks and the massive ossuary at St. James’ Church. Protestant influence is visible in the Neo-Gothic Red Church and the Constructivist Hussite churches. The Jewish Cemetery, Moravia’s largest, offers a quiet look at the city’s complex heritage, while the remote Chapel of the Assumption provides a link to medieval castle history.
