Wilderness Huts & Shelters

Corrour Bothy
Corrour Bothy is a simple stone building on Mar Lodge Estate, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Ryvoan
A traditional stone bothy located at the Ryvoan Pass. It features a single room with a fireplace and sits on the historic route between Glenmore and Abernethy Forest.
Allt Scheicheachan
A remote stone shelter in Glen Tilt on the Atholl Estate. It serves as a basic resting point for hikers on the long trek between Blair Atholl and Braemar.
Tarf Hotel
A multi-room stone bothy located in a remote part of the Forest of Atholl. Despite its name, it is a basic wilderness shelter providing vital refuge in the Mounth hills.
Fords of Avon Refuge Hut
A strategic high-altitude emergency shelter situated at the River Avon crossing. This small stone-clad structure was rebuilt in 2011 to withstand extreme mountain conditions.
Callater Stable
A former stable building near Loch Callater on the Invercauld Estate. It offers a basic sleeping area for walkers traversing the Jock's Road historic right of way.
Shielin of Mark
A small, secluded stone bothy located near the Water of Mark. It features a fireplace and provides basic shelter in the remote Mounth area.
Faindouran
A remote stone lodge in Glen Avon. It provides a base for exploring the surrounding high peaks and includes a fireplace and multiple rooms.
Hutchinson Memorial Hut
A small stone hut located high in Coire Etchachan. Built in memory of a local climber, it provides high-altitude shelter near Derry Cairngorm and Beinn Mheadhoin.
Gelder Shiel Stable
A basic shelter on the Balmoral Estate. This converted stable building provides simple accommodation for walkers near the base of Lochnagar.
Ruigh Aiteachain
A renovated stone bothy in Glen Feshie featuring a wood-burning stove and a separate sleeping loft. It is situated within the Cairngorms National Nature Reserve.
Bob Scott's Bothy
A popular shelter located in the woods near Derry Lodge on the Mar Lodge Estate. It features a wood-burning stove and commemorates a local gamekeeper.
Dalnashallag
