Historic Religious Sites

Córdoba’s religious landscape is defined by the Fernandine churches, a group of 13th-century structures commissioned by King Ferdinand III after the reconquest. This selection highlights architectural transitions from Romanesque and Gothic styles to the local Mudejar influence. Notable sites include the Basilica of San Pedro, which houses relics of local martyrs, and the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Valparaíso, a 15th-century complex built using materials from the nearby Medina Azahara.
