Hohe Tauern Unmissables
The Hohe Tauern National Park centers around the Grossglockner, Austria’s highest peak at 3,798 metres. This alpine region features the 380-metre-high Krimml Waterfalls and the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, which reaches an elevation of 2,504 metres at the Hochtor Pass. Key sites include the Mooserboden and Kaprun high-altitude reservoirs, the 140-metre-long Stubnerkogel suspension bridge, and dramatic limestone ravines such as the Liechtenstein Gorge. The area also preserves historical sites like the 12th-century Burg Klammstein.
