Provincia de Jujuy Essentials
Provincia de Jujuy features the UNESCO-listed Quebrada de Humahuaca, a valley defined by geological formations like the Cerro de los Siete Colores and the Serranía de Hornocal. The region preserves pre-Columbian traditions and colonial architecture, seen in the villages of Purmamarca, Tilcara, and Humahuaca. Natural landmarks include the high-altitude wetlands of Laguna de los Pozuelos, home to thousands of flamingos, the thermal waters of Termas de Reyes, and the Yungas cloud forest within Calilegua National Park.
Mirador Serranía de Hornocal
Observation point situated at 4,350 meters above sea level. It offers a panoramic view of the Serranía de Hornocal, a limestone formation known as the Mountain of Fourteen Colors due to its distinct triangular mineral layers.
Tropic of Capricorn
A roadside monument near Huacalera marking the southern latitude where the sun reaches the zenith. Every December 21st, the site hosts celebrations for the summer solstice.
Monumento a los Héroes de la lndependencia
Massive bronze sculpture by Ernesto Soto Avendaño atop Santa Bárbara hill. It commemorates the indigenous and criollo soldiers of the Army of the North who fought in the Argentine War of Independence.
