Kaş Essentials

Kaş serves as a gateway to the ancient Lycian Civilization and the dramatic landscapes of the Teke Peninsula. This collection features the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Xanthos and Letoon, alongside the 18-kilometer stretch of Patara Beach, a vital nesting ground for loggerhead turtles. The list includes the Hellenistic theatre of Antiphellos, which overlooks the Mediterranean, and the deep limestone walls of Saklıkent Canyon. Visitors can explore well-preserved Lycian rock tombs, the turquoise waters of Kaputaş Beach, and the submerged ruins of Aperlae.

Lycian amphitheatre

A well-preserved Hellenistic theatre dating back to the 1st century BC. Built from local limestone, it originally seated 4,000 people and is unique for its orientation facing the Mediterranean Sea without a permanent stage building blocking the view.

King's Tomb

A 4th-century BC Lycian sarcophagus located at the upper end of Uzun Çarşı street. The monument features a high-pitched lid and four relief carvings of lion heads, serving as a prominent example of ancient funerary architecture in the center of Kaş.

Mavi Mağara

A 50-meter-long sea cave located near Kaputaş Beach. Accessible only by boat, the cave is named for the bright blue hue created by sunlight reflecting through the underwater entrance and off the white seafloor.

Xanthos-Letoon

A UNESCO World Heritage site comprising the administrative capital of Xanthos and the nearby religious sanctuary of Letoon. The complex contains significant Lycian inscriptions, a Roman theatre, and temples dedicated to the goddess Leto and her children, Apollo and Artemis.
