Historic Sites of Killarney
Killarney’s historic landscape spans over 4,000 years of human activity within the National Park. This collection features the 15th-century Ross Castle and Muckross Abbey, a well-preserved Franciscan friary. Explore the 19th-century Muckross House and Killarney House, which showcase Victorian and Edwardian architecture. Muckross Abbey
Founded in 1448 as a Franciscan friary, these ruins include a well-preserved cloister surrounding an ancient yew tree. The site served as a burial place for local chieftains and prominent Gaelic poets.
