Sacred Sites of Significance

Ohrid, often called the 'Jerusalem of the Balkans,' is home to a dense concentration of Byzantine churches and monasteries. This collection highlights the region's spiritual heritage, featuring 11th-century cathedrals, cliffside chapels, and unique cave churches. These sites preserve significant medieval frescoes and architectural styles that defined the Eastern Orthodox world, many of which are protected within the UNESCO World Heritage area of Lake Ohrid.
