Iconic Alpine Huts & Shelters

This collection features remote Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) huts and private mountain guesthouses scattered throughout the Lauterbrunnen Valley and its surrounding peaks. Ranging from the 3,657-meter high Mönchsjochhütte to the historic, candlelit Berghotel Obersteinberg, these shelters provide essential accommodation for climbers and hikers. Many serve as strategic base camps for ascending the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, while others offer traditional mountain dining with direct views of the region's glaciers and limestone cliffs.

A

Silberhornhütte SAC

Located at 2,663 meters, this SAC hut serves as the primary starting point for climbing the Silberhorn and the Jungfrau via the Rotbrätt ridge.

Suls-Lobhornhütte

Situated at 1,955 meters near the Sulssee lake, this hut offers panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau massif.

The Rottal Hut is a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club, located south of Lauterbrunnen in the canton of Bern.
