Mátra Peaks and Viewpoints

The Mátra mountains, a volcanic range in northern Hungary, contain the country’s highest peaks, Kékestető and Galya-tető. This collection features diverse vantage points, including the historic 1900 Kozmáry stone tower and the repurposed industrial rig at Sástó. Beyond natural summits like Ágasvár and Tót-hegyes, the list includes significant cultural landmarks such as the Buddhist Peace Stupa in Tar and the memorial watchtower at the former Recsk forced labor camp.

Kékestető Ski Resort

Kékes is Hungary's highest mountain, at 1,014 metres above sea level in the Mátra mountain range.
