Ancient Ruins of Thailand

Eastern gate

One of the original four sandstone and laterite entrance gates to the ancient walled city of Phimai.

Meru Brahmathat

A large brick stupa or mound situated southeast of Phimai’s main sanctuary. It is believed to have served as a funerary monument for a Khmer ruler, with current structures showing later Ayutthaya-style modifications.

Dharmasala Ku Sila

A 13th-century laterite fire shrine or rest house built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. It is one of several structures located along the ancient highway connecting Angkor to Phimai.

Dharmasala Huai Khaen
