Namur's Absolute Essentials

Namur's highlights concentrate on its hilltop Citadel overlooking the Sambre–Meuse confluence, the UNESCO-listed Belfry (Tour Saint-Jacques), and a cluster of religious and civic monuments from the Late Baroque cathedral to medieval and mosan buildings. The list also includes archaeological Spy Cave, a former industrial quarry turned nature reserve, and historic market halls illustrating the city's regional heritage and architectural continuity.

Belgian Religious Heritage

This collection highlights 20 religious sites across Namur province and neighbouring areas, from Namur’s Late Baroque St. Aubin’s Cathedral to Romanesque parish churches and medieval chapels. It includes former monastic complexes (Benedictine, Cistercian, Premonstratensian) such as Gembloux, Floreffe and Brogne, small Romanesque village churches in Andenne and Seilles, and hilltop chapels overlooking Fosses-la-Ville.

Castles and Heritage Sites

This list gathers Namur province's fortified and heritage sites: river‑overlooking Citadel and late‑19th‑century forts that are part of the Fortifications of Namur; medieval castles and château‑fermes such as Corroy‑le‑Château and Falnuée; ecclesiastical landmarks including Gembloux Abbey and St. Aubin's Cathedral; belfries and archaeological sites like Spy Cave with its palaeontological finds.
