Viewpoints and Peaks

Petra’s rugged sandstone topography is defined by dramatic massifs and hidden overlooks. This collection includes the Al-Khubtha trail viewpoint overlooking the Treasury, the Crusader ruins atop Al Habis, and Jabal Harun, the highest peak in the area and traditional burial site of Aaron. These summits provide geological and historical context of the Nabataean capital, revealing the complex water management systems and defensive positions carved directly into the mountain ridges.

Reached via the Al-Khubtha trail, this ledge offers a direct vertical perspective of the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) facade from above.
