Historic Ribe

As Denmark’s oldest town, Ribe preserves a dense collection of medieval and Renaissance architecture. This list features the 12th-century Ribe Cathedral, a landmark showcasing Romanesque and Gothic styles, and St. Catherine’s Priory, one of Scandinavia’s best-preserved Dominican friaries founded in 1228. Other highlights include Tårnborg, a 16th-century former bishop’s palace, and the Old Townhall, a Gothic building now housing a museum.
