Rokytnice nad Jizerou Essentials

Rokytnice nad Jizerou features one of the largest ski resorts in the Czech Republic, centered around the 1,344-meter Lysá hora. The area is defined by natural landmarks like the 20-meter Huťský waterfall and the granite Trzy Świnki rock formations. Historic sites include the 1902 Art Nouveau town hall and the late Baroque Church of St. Michael. Lysá hora

A 1,344-meter peak in the western Giant Mountains. It is the only mountain in the Czech Republic with a ski lift reaching the summit, located within the Krkonoše National Park.

Huťský vodopád

A 20-meter cascading waterfall on the Huťský Stream. It was named after the region's first glassworks established nearby during the 14th century.

Chata Dvoračky

Historic mountain hut situated at 1,140 meters. Originally a farmhouse dating back to 1707, it now serves as a major intersection for hiking and cross-country skiing trails.

Skalní vyhlídka Stráž

Rock viewpoint located on Strážník hill. It offers panoramic views of the Rokytnice valley and the surrounding peaks of the western Giant Mountains.

Městský úřad

Art Nouveau building completed in 1902 on the Lower Square. It features a 37-meter-high tower and serves as the seat of local government.

Svatý Michael

Late Baroque church built between 1753 and 1759. Designed by architect Jan Josef Wirch, it stands on the site of a former wooden Protestant church.

Trzy Świnki

Distinctive granite rock formation at an altitude of 1,290 meters on the Czech-Polish border. The group of rocks is part of the western Giant Mountains' main ridge.

Vosecká bouda

Alpine hut founded in 1743, located at 1,260 meters. It remains one of the few high-altitude huts in the Giant Mountains not connected to the electrical grid.

Stary Kravin

Local museum housed in a former cowshed. It showcases exhibitions on traditional mountain life, woodcarving, and the history of skiing in the region.
