Sabaragamuwa Province Essentials
Sabaragamuwa Province encompasses diverse landscapes ranging from the UNESCO-listed Sinharaja Forest Reserve to the sacred heights of Adam’s Peak. The region is home to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and the ancient Sankhapala Rajamaha Viharaya. Natural landmarks include the 30-meter Bopath Ella Falls and the limestone caverns of Waulpane, which contain prehistoric fossils. Its high-altitude terrain features the dramatic precipice of World’s End and the multi-religious Ambuluwawa Tower, offering panoramic views across the central highlands and the island's gem-mining heartland.
