Historic Palaces & Memorials

Salzburg's architectural landscape is defined by its collection of baroque palaces and historic residences. This selection includes the UNESCO-listed Mirabell Palace with its geometric gardens and the Mozart Residence, which houses the composer’s original scores. Beyond the city center, the list features several manor houses along the Hellbrunner Allee, such as Schloss Frohnburg and Schloss Emslieb, alongside the 17th-century Robinighof and the Kriegerdenkmal war memorial in Aigen.

Mirabell Palace

Historic Baroque palace and garden complex known for its architectural beauty, cultural events, and role as a municipal office. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring notable interiors and free-access gardens.

Mozart Residence

Another museum of Mozart that focuses predominantly on his work - apart from the interior you will see his letters and scores.

Schloss Frohnburg

A 17th-century baroque palace on Hellbrunner Allee, currently used by the Mozarteum University. The building is recognized for its historic facade and its appearance as a filming location in "The Sound of Music."

Robinighof

A baroque manor house built in 1648 in the Schallmoos district. It was later updated with rococo elements and is historically significant for its association with the Robinig family, who were close friends of Mozart.

Schloss Aigen

Schloss Aigen is a castle located in Aigen, a quarter of Salzburg, Salzburgerland, Austria.

Schloss Emslieb

An early baroque villa built in 1618 for Prince-Archbishop Markus Sittikus. Situated on the historic Hellbrunner Allee, it remains an integral part of the city's ensemble of aristocratic suburban estates.

Schloss Montfort

Also known as the Golserhof or Monforterhof, this historic estate is located in the Hellbrunn district. It serves as an example of the traditional manor house architecture found in Salzburg’s southern outskirts.
