Churches and Monuments

Smederevo’s spiritual and historical identity is reflected in its 19th-century Orthodox architecture and commemorative landmarks. The collection includes the Holy Trinity Cathedral, modeled after the medieval Manasija monastery, and suburban churches dedicated to St. Elijah and St. Archangel Gabriel. Memorial sites honor those lost in World War I and celebrate the legacy of Aleksandar Deroko, the architect whose work was instrumental in documenting and preserving the city's iconic medieval fortress.
