Szczecin Heritage Sites
Szczecin’s heritage is defined by architectural layers ranging from the Gothic St. James the Apostle Archcathedral to the Renaissance-style Pomeranian Dukes' Castle. The city's 18th-century Prussian fortifications are represented by the ornate Royal and Port Gates. Other highlights include the Old Town Hall, the 14th-century St. John the Evangelist Church—the city's oldest building—and the historic Seven Coats Tower. These sites illustrate Szczecin's history as a major Hanseatic port and the seat of the House of Pomerania.
