Lake District Historic Sites
The Lake District’s history spans from Neolithic axe production at Great Langdale to the strategic Roman fortifications of Hardknott and Galava. Medieval heritage is preserved in the ruins of Shap Abbey and the fortified manor of Sizergh Castle, while Muncaster Castle offers insights into long-standing family estates. Wray Castle
