Utah’s historical landscape spans thousands of years, from the ancient Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings at Butler Wash and Hovenweep Castle to the 2,000-year-old petroglyphs at Newspaper Rock. The state’s pioneer heritage is preserved at Temple Square and This is the Place Heritage Park, while the 1920s Bryce Canyon Lodge showcases National Park Service rustic architecture. Scientific history is represented by the prehistoric fossil beds of the Quarry Exhibit Hall and the 11,000-year-old archaeological records found within Danger Cave.
