Western Cape Viewpoints
The Western Cape features a diverse range of viewpoints, from the iconic flat-topped Table Mountain and the historic Maclear's Beacon to the rugged cliffs of Cape Point. Visitors can explore the indigenous flora at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens or observe southern right whales from Hermanus's Gearings Point. Further east along the Garden Route, Dolphin Point overlooks the Kaaimans River bridge, while the Knysna Heads offer panoramic vistas of the Indian Ocean and the Knysna lagoon.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
Kirstenbosch is an important botanical garden nestled at the eastern foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town.
Heads Lookout
Overlooks the narrow channel where the Knysna lagoon meets the Indian Ocean. It provides a vantage point for observing the turbulent water between the sandstone cliffs known as the Knysna Heads.
