Royal Whanganui Opera House

Opened in 1899, this is New Zealand's last remaining Victorian opera house. The wooden structure features a grand auditorium used for theatre, music, and community events.

Bridge to Nowhere

A concrete road bridge built in 1936 across the Mangapurua Stream. It stands isolated in the forest, the only remnant of a failed settlement for soldiers returning from World War I.

P.S. Waimarie

A fully restored coal-fired paddle steamer originally built in 1899. It operates scheduled cruises on the Whanganui River, departing from the Riverboat Centre and Museum.
