Wuhan’s landscape is defined by its relationship with water, anchored by the massive East Lake and the confluence of the Yangtze and Han Rivers. This selection highlights the city's diverse green spaces, from the historical 1910-era Zhongshan Park to the modern Hankou River Coast Park spanning seven kilometers. These sites offer a mix of classical Chinese garden architecture, seasonal lotus blooms at Shahu and Lotus Lake, and cultural landmarks like the Qintai arts complex at Moon Lake.

Hankou River Coast Park

Stretching seven kilometres along the river, this park is majestic and overwhelming. Wander around and enjoy the views of the river.

East Lake

East Lake is a large freshwater lake within the city limits of Wuhan, China, the largest or the second largest urban lake in China.

Zhongshan Park

Established in 1910, this historic park features a mix of traditional Chinese gardens, a lake for boating, and a central amusement section.

Jiefang Park

Built in 1952, this park includes a large lawn, a European-style forest area, and a dedicated wetlands ecological zone.

Long wang miao gong yuan

Located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Han Rivers, this site holds historical significance for flood control and offers views of the merging waterways.

Hongshan Square

Yue hu gong yuan

Home to the Qintai Concert Hall and Grand Theatre, this lakeside park serves as a cultural hub featuring sculptures and ancient-style architecture.

Dong hu ting tao jing qu

The oldest scenic area of East Lake, featuring the Qu Yuan Memorial Hall, bamboo groves, and extensive lakeside walking paths.

Shahu Park

Wuhan's second-largest inner-city lake park, designed with classical Chinese landscaping, pavilions, and seasonal lotus displays.

Lotus Lake Park

Situated near the Yangtze River Bridge, this park is known for its traditional pavilions and dense summer lotus blossoms.
