Zeeland's Heritage Trail
Zeeland’s architectural history spans Gothic civic buildings, medieval fortifications, and maritime landmarks. This trail features the 15th-century Middelburg Town Hall and the Lange Jan abbey tower, alongside the oldest sea fort in Western Europe, Fort Rammekens. The list includes the archaeological remains of the submerged village of Valkenisse, the unfinished Sint-Lievensmonstertoren in Zierikzee, and the 5-kilometer Zeeland Bridge. From the medieval Belfry of Sluis to the defensive gates of Vlissingen, these sites document the region's strategic importance and maritime heritage.
