Ledra Street

This central commercial street serves as a major shopping thoroughfare and a historic crossing point between the northern and southern parts of the city. It functions as a vibrant commercial area.

Historically, the street was the site of a United Nations buffer zone barricade that symbolized the division of the city. This barricade was removed in 2008, allowing the street to serve as a connection between the two sides.

The street is a primary destination for shopping and is known as Οδός Λήδρας in Greek and Lokmacı Caddesi in Turkish.
