The Gothic building serves as the historic heart of the Jagiellonian University, with its origins dating back to 1400. It is recognized as an architectural heritage monument and stands as the oldest surviving structure of Poland's oldest university.
The interior houses the Jagiellonian University Museum, which preserves an extensive collection of medieval scientific instruments, globes, and historical insignia.
