Mountain Huts & Camping
This collection features historic mountain lodges and DNT cabins across Trøndelag’s most prominent ranges, including Trollheimen, Dovrefjell, and Sylan. The selection ranges from the 18th-century timber architecture of Gjevilvasshytta to high-alpine outposts like Snøheim at the foot of Snøhetta. It also includes established campsites along the Trondheim Fjord and traditional mountain dairy farms like Ljøsnåvollen in Femundsmarka. These sites serve as key trailheads for multi-day treks, providing access to national parks and historic coaching routes.
A Gjevilvasshytta
A staffed DNT lodge in Trollheimen built from 18th-century timber. It serves as a gateway to the Gjevilvatnet area and the popular "Triangle" hiking route.
B Sollia
Self-service DNT cabin located on the northern edge of Trollheimen, situated along the trail between Storli and Gjevilvasshytta.
Kongsvold Fjeldstue
Historic coaching inn at the edge of Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park. The current timber buildings date to 1720 and provide a base for musk ox safaris.
Snøheim
High-mountain DNT lodge at 1,474 meters at the foot of Snøhetta. Reopened in 2012, it occupies a former military facility within the national park.
Levanger Camping
Fjord-side campsite located within walking distance of Levanger's historic wooden town center and the E6 highway.
Storsand Gård Camping
Coastal campsite on the Trondheim Fjord featuring a shallow sandy beach, rental cabins, and facilities for caravans and tents.
Furrubakken
Small, basic timber shelter in Femundsmarka National Park, providing primitive accommodation for hikers and fishers.
Litjrennbua
Traditional open forest hut in Femundsmarka, typical of the region's historical timber-driving and trapping heritage.
Nedalshytta
Staffed DNT lodge at the foot of the Sylan massif. It is accessible by car and serves as the primary starting point for climbing Storsylen.
Storerikvollen
DNT mountain lodge in Sylan with views of Lake Essandsjøen. The architecture reflects traditional Trøndelag mountain farm styles.
Schulzhytta
Self-service DNT cabin located in the heart of Skarvan og Roltdalen National Park, accessible only by foot or skis.
Ljøsnåvollen
A traditional mountain dairy farm in Femundsmarka offering seasonal accommodation and local food near the Swedish border.
Bårdsgarden
Mountain farm and DNT cabin in Storlidalen, Trollheimen. It provides a base for ski touring and hiking in the western part of the range.
Teveltunet Fjellstue
