The site consists of a heavily fortified castle complex with origins dating back to the 14th century, though its current form largely reflects late 15th-century Gothic architecture. Located on the summit of a volcanic hill, the fortress serves as a significant regional landmark. The complex is designated as a national cultural monument and is managed by the National Heritage Institute.
