Collioure Heritage

Collioure’s strategic coastal position is defined by centuries of military and religious architecture. The Château Royal, once home to the Kings of Majorca, stands as a central medieval landmark alongside the 17th-century Église Notre-Dame-des-Anges, famous for its bell tower that originally served as a lighthouse. The surrounding hills are guarded by Vauban-influenced fortifications, including the star-shaped Fort Saint-Elme and Fort Dugommier, while the Dolmen de Rimbau provides evidence of prehistoric settlement in the Roussillon region.

Église Notre-Dame-des-Anges

An 18th-century defensive complex comprising a square fort and a star-shaped tower. These structures were part of the coastal fortification network designed to protect the northern approaches to the harbor.
