Historic Sites of Crimea
Crimea’s architectural landscape reflects centuries of shifting empires, from the 14th-century Genoese fortifications in Sudak and Feodosia to the cliffside cave monasteries of the medieval era. The southern coast features 19th and early 20th-century imperial retreats, including the Renaissance-style Livadia Palace and the Gothic Revival Swallow’s Nest. Inland, the ruins of Mangup-Kale and Funa Fortress mark the remnants of the Principality of Theodoro, while prehistoric burial sites and cave dwellings offer a glimpse into the region's earliest human settlements.
A Genuezskaya Krepost'
Medieval fortification built by the Genoese between 1371 and 1469. The site features well-preserved defensive walls and 14 towers overlooking Sudak Bay.
B Swallow's Nest
The Swallow's Nest is a decorative castle located at Gaspra, a small spa town between Yalta and Alupka on the Crimean peninsula, Ukraine.

F Corgunskaa basna
A unique 12-meter high octagonal stone tower in Chernorechye. Likely dating to the 16th or 18th century, it served as a defensive structure or part of a noble estate.
G Genuezskaa krepost (Krepost Kafa)
Remains of the 14th-century Genoese citadel in Feodosia. Once one of Europe's largest trade hubs, the site retains parts of its outer walls and the Tower of Constantine.
H Mangup
Mangup also known as Mangup Kale is a historic fortress in Crimea, located on a plateau about 13 kilometres east of Sevastopol.
I Krepost Funa
A 15th-century fortification of the Principality of Theodoro located at the foot of Mount Demerdzhi. It guarded an important trade route and contains ruins of a medieval church.
J Pecernij monastir Cilter-Marmara
A medieval cave monastery featuring over 50 cells and halls carved into limestone cliffs. It dates to the 8th–9th centuries and includes a large columned refectory.
K Krepost Aluston
A Byzantine fortress founded by Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century. A surviving defensive tower remains standing in the center of modern Alushta.
L Mecet Eski-Saraj
Ruined 14th-century mosque and one of the oldest Islamic structures on the peninsula. It is a rare example of early Crimean Tatar architecture with surviving stone walls.
M Armanskaa cerkov svatoj Paraskevy (1702)
An Armenian church built in 1702 in the village of Topolevka. It is a registered cultural heritage monument reflecting the region's historic Armenian community.
N Greceskaa cerkov Ioanna Krestitela 12v
Ruins of a 12th-century Byzantine-style Greek Orthodox church. It represents the medieval religious architecture of the former Silk Road trading post of Staryi Krym.
O Surb-Stepanos
Ruins of a medieval Armenian monastery located on the slopes of Mount Machuk, part of a historic network of religious sites near Staryi Krym.
P Adzi Koba I
A Paleolithic cave site on the Karabi-Yayla plateau. Excavations have revealed stone tools and animal remains dating back to the Mousterian and Upper Paleolithic periods.
Q Tas-Koj
Ancient burial sites of the Taurian culture dating from the 6th century BC. These megalithic "stone boxes" are located in the Baydar Valley.
