Best of Leiria District

This selection highlights the architectural and coastal heritage of Portugal's Leiria District. It features the UNESCO-listed Gothic Monastery of Batalha and the Cistercian Monastery of Alcobaça. Medieval history is preserved in the walled town of Óbidos and the uniquely tiled towers of Porto de Mós Castle. Coastal landmarks include the maritime fortress of Peniche and the traditional fishing beaches of Nazaré and São Pedro de Moel.
