Miyun District offers a rugged escape from Beijing, anchored by the Simatai and Jinshanling sections of the Great Wall, known for their steep gradients and preserved Ming Dynasty architecture. The region is dominated by the Miyun Reservoir, the largest man-made lake in North China and a critical water source for the capital.
