North Kazakhstan's landscape is defined by diverse water bodies, ranging from the vast salt expanse of Siletiteniz to the freshwater shores of Lake Imantau. The region includes the Sergeev Reservoir, the largest artificial basin on the Ishim River, which regulates water flow and provides hydroelectric power. Many of these lakes, including Shalkar and Saumalkol, are known for their high salinity and mineral-rich muds, while Ozero Pestroe serves as a primary recreational site for Petropavl.
