Peloponnese Must-Sees

The Peloponnese contains several of Greece's most significant archaeological sites, including the Mycenaean citadels of Mycenae and Tiryns and the Sanctuary of Olympia, where the ancient Olympic Games originated. The region features the well-preserved 4th-century BCE theater at Epidaurus and the UNESCO-listed Temple of Apollo Epicurius at Bassae. Medieval history is preserved in the fortified rock city of Monemvasia and the Venetian castles of Methoni and Palamidi. Natural landmarks include the circular Voidokilia Beach and the subterranean lake systems of the Diros Caves.
