Hochjoch Mountain Adventures
This high-alpine collection centers on the Hochjoch massif in Austria’s Verwall Alps. The journey begins with the two-stage Hochjoch Bahn cable car system from Schruns, providing efficient access to the Kapell area. Key highlights include the 2,307-meter Wormser Hütte, a historic German Alpine Club refuge serving regional cuisine, and prominent summits like the 2,395-meter Kreuzjoch and the 2,520-meter Hochjoch peak, offering expansive views across the Montafon valley and Rätikon range.
Wormser Hütte
A Category I alpine refuge at 2,307 meters above sea level, managed by the Worms section of the German Alpine Club. It provides regional cuisine and overnight accommodation for hikers in the Verwall Alps.
Kreuzjoch
A 2,395-meter peak in the Verwall mountain range. Located in the Schruns municipality, it serves as a central vantage point for the Hochjoch hiking area and the surrounding Vorarlberg landscape.
Sauerbleis
A mountain peak and viewpoint situated at approximately 2,100 meters. It offers a clear perspective of the surrounding Silvretta and Rätikon ranges and serves as a waypoint on the ascent toward the higher Hochjoch summits.
Hochjoch Bahn I
The primary cable car departing from the valley station in Schruns. This first stage transports passengers to the middle station, serving as the main entry point to the Silvretta Montafon mountain park.
Hochjoch Bahn II
The second stage of the cable car system, connecting the middle station to the Kapell mountain station at 1,855 meters. It provides direct access to the Wormser Hütte and high-altitude trailheads.
Hochjoch
The namesake 2,520-meter summit of the region. This Verwall Alps peak is accessible via alpine hiking trails and offers panoramic views of the surrounding Montafon valley and neighboring mountain groups.
