Thisted Essentials

Thisted serves as the gateway to Thy National Park, Denmark’s first national park, defined by its expansive dune heaths and coastal wildlife. The region's history is preserved through the 11th-century Vestervig Abbey and WWII coastal fortifications at Hanstholm. Iconic landmarks include the Hanstholm and Lodbjerg lighthouses, which offer views of the North Sea, alongside traditional Dutch-style windmills and the unique maritime culture of the fishing village Vorupør.

Hanstholm Lighthouse

Adjacent to an important port, it holds Denmark's most powerful lighthouse lamp. 60 meters high - a great vantage point.

Lodbjerg fyr

This 35-meter-high granite lighthouse was built in 1883. Located within Thy National Park, it provides a vantage point over the surrounding coastal dunes and the North Sea.
