Scenic Viewpoints

The Adelaide Hills offer a network of elevated vantage points ranging from the 710-meter peak of Mount Lofty to the dramatic quartzite cliffs of Morialta Conservation Park. This collection highlights the region's geological diversity, featuring the three-tiered waterfall system of Fourth Creek and the wildflower-rich slopes of Anstey Hill. Visitors can observe the transition from native stringybark forests to panoramic views of the Adelaide city skyline, the suburban plains, and the waters of Gulf St Vincent.

Mount Lofty Summit Lookout

Rising 710 meters above sea level, this summit features a white obelisk commemorating explorer Matthew Flinders. It provides 180-degree views across the Adelaide plains to Gulf St Vincent.

Measday's Lookout

Located within Cleland National Park, this vantage point overlooks the South Eastern Freeway and the rugged ridges of the southern Adelaide Hills.

Deep View Lookout

Situated on the Morialta Plateau, this lookout offers a panoramic perspective of the Morialta Gorge's quartzite cliffs and the Adelaide city skyline.

First Falls

A 30-meter seasonal waterfall that plunges over a sheer rock face. The viewing platform is accessible via a paved 1.7-kilometer return trail from the Morialta picnic area.

Second Falls

Located further up the Morialta Gorge, this waterfall is reached via the Three Falls Grand Hike, showcasing the park's distinct geological layers.

Third Falls

The most secluded of the Morialta trio, this waterfall marks the upper section of Fourth Creek and is best viewed after recent rainfall.

Kookaburra Rock Lookout

A rocky outcrop along the Morialta Falls plateau hike providing views into the gorge and across the valley toward the First Falls.
