Krujë Essentials

Krujë serves as Albania’s historic epicenter, anchored by its medieval castle which famously withstood three Ottoman sieges under the leadership of national hero Skanderbeg. This selection spans the 17th-century Old Bazaar, where traditional crafts are still produced, to the National Ethnographic Museum housed in an 18th-century Ottoman villa. Beyond the castle walls, the list includes the Bektashi shrine of Sari Salltiku atop Mount Krujë and the scenic Bovilla Lake reservoir, providing a comprehensive look at the region’s cultural heritage and natural landscape.
