Alpine Refuges & Bivouacs

This collection features essential mountain shelters across the Southern Alps and Valle Maira. It includes staffed alpine huts like Refuge du Chambeyron, situated at 2,626 meters, and remote, unmanaged bivouacs such as the metal-clad Bivacco Barenghi. These sites provide strategic stopovers for the GR5 trail and serve as base camps for climbing the Aiguille de Chambeyron and exploring the Mercantour National Park border.
